Over the several years,Professor Gu has mainly engaged in laser physics and technology, photoelectron technology and devices, nonlinear optics, laser spectroscopy of laser life science and other research work.

Recently,he has mainly studied in optoelectronic laser technology and devices. And has finished some preliminary groundwork in LED and solid laser devices. Professor Gu has published about one hundred paper and been accepted six results in which two has been rewarded.

He mainly needs students whose major are in chemistry and photology.
